A snowcat (short for snow and caterpillar) or snow groomers, often called as PistenBully  is an enclosed-cab, truck-sized, fully tracked vehicle designed to move on snow. 

A snowcat dedicated to snow maintenance.

Other terms are "piste machines", "trail groomers" (in North American English) or "piste bashers" (in British English) because of their use in preparing ski trails ("pistes") or snowmobile trails.

PistenBully (Germany), Prinoth (Italy) and Tucker (United States) are the major manufacturers.

Jeremy Renner was run over by his snowplow, causing him severe leg injuries and a collapse of his chest. He is is still in intensive care, but in stable condition.
