In Germany, you must register your address at the Bürgeramt(known as a Bürgeramt, Bürgerbüro or Bürgerdienst) AKA citizens' office. This will become your official address in Germany. This is called the Anmeldung.
Bürgeramtplays a very important role in Germany. As an expat, the Bürgeramt is probably the institution you'll visit most regularly, as they deal with everything from address registration to pet licences.
